Joe Biden has delivered his remarks on the government response to the Hurricane Idalia and Hawaii fires. Commenting on Maui destruction, he emphasized that helping the locals would take time, and ‘folks can’t get back to the area right away’, and that ‘it’s painful’, and that he ‘gets it’.

‘But what can I tell ya?’, the president asked. ‘One thing I can tell you, we’re not walking away’.
