To my knowledge, there is not a single orchid grower that doesn't revel in the sight on new root growth on orchids. The emerald green, yellow or red tips that push forward on the daily, leaving white, freckled or metallic velamen behind as they grow longer and longer, in search for something to grab on to... they are truly a sight to behold. While orchid roots have all the hallmarks of being tough cookies that can through around everything, these stunning tips are sensitive to outside influences, including us touching them.
