Soon after India scripted history by becoming the first country to successfully soft-land on the moon's south pole, congratulations poured in from Russian President Vladimir Putin and his minister Sergey Lavrov. Congratulating President Murmu and PM Modi, the Russian President said, “It’s a big step forward in space exploration.” Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, who is in South Africa to attend 15th BRICS Summit, also congratulated India. Apart from both the politicians, the Russian Space Agency Roscosmos also congratulated India for the historic achievement. With this success, India has become the fourth country- after the US, China and Russia – to have successfully landed on the moon’s surface. India has also earned a place in record books as the first to touchdown on the south side of Earth’s only natural satellite
