Ukraine's counteroffensive defies odds: senior official

A senior Ukrainian official said Ukraine has advanced in its counteroffensive against Russian soldiers by showing it can defeat a better-armed and numerically superior enemy. A US source stated last week that Kyiv was unlikely to regain Melitopol, a crucial southern city, after facing huge Russian minefields and trenches in the counteroffensive that began in early June.
