Arkansas State Police Trooper Morphis Pits Red Charger On US HWY 65 In Lake Village Ark 05/13/23

On Saturday, May 13, 2023, I Trooper Walker Morphis was patrolling United States Highway 82 near Chicot Memorial Medical Center in Lake Village. I observed a black Dodge Charger traveling continuously in the left lane displaying Arkansas License Plate AKR19C. I attempted to conduct a traffic stop for that observed violation. Upon activating my emergency lights and sirens, this vehicle accelerated at a high rate of speed, upwards of 130 mph, and fled in an eastern direction towards Mississippi. Approximately 1 mile west of United States Highway 65, the operator of this vehicle turned off the headlights/taillights and increased speeds to upwards of 140 mph at times. This vehicle was weaving in and out of traffic, without any regard for other vehicles, in a very reckless manner. I continued to follow this vehicle at these speeds until losing sight of it upon entering Mississippi. I was able to retrieve the license plate, but was never able to obtain any driver information.
