Did you know that people who work jobs that require repetitive use of their arms in front of their body, like hair stylists, construction workers, and desk job workers, are at risk for thoracic outlet syndrome (TOS)? That's because these jobs can cause the muscles in the neck and pec to become tight, compressing nerves and blood vessels.

Other jobs that can cause TOS include being a cashier, electrician, massage therapist, painter, plumber, chef, and musician.

To protect yourself from TOS, it's important to take breaks and stretch throughout the day, and to incorporate massage therapy and exercise into your routine.
