Word 1
Study Of Paul's Epistle To The Romans - The Fundamentals Of Christian Education & Church Principles. | Rom. 2:16-20
• Rom. 2:16 Paul expresses the time when both Jews and Gentiles will be judged, called a "day", both because of the clearness and evidence of the judgment that will be made, and because a certain time is fixed, though not known, which will surely come. The secrets of men: whether good or bad, which are only known to God and themselves, and which may have been done ignorantly by them shall brought into judgment with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil" All judgments are committed to Jesus Christ, who is ordained Judge of quick and dead. Know Jesus now and live for him.

Word 2
Study Of Paul's Epistle To The Romans - The Fundamentals Of Christian Education & Church Principles. | Rom. 2:16-20
• Rom. 2:17 Paul continues to argue that all stand guilty before God. After describing the fate of the unbelieving, pagan Gentiles, he moves to admonish God's people. Despite their knowledge of God's will, they were guilty because they, too, refuse to live by it. Those of us who have grown up in Christian families may know what God's Word says. But Paul says that if we do not live up to what we know, we are no better off than unbelievers.

Word 3
Study Of Paul's Epistle To The Romans - The Fundamentals Of Christian Education & Church Principles. | Rom. 2:16-20
• Rom. 2:18-20 Paul is now talking to the Jews. They had this position of spiritual superiority over other men, "God has revealed His will to the Jews, God has given a law to the Jews. We are a guide to the blind, and we are light to those in darkness. We are an instructor of the foolish." But Paul said, "Look, in teaching others don’t you listen to yourself, aren’t you learning yourself?"Now Jesus said to His disciples, "Unless your righteousness exceeds that of the Scribes and Pharisees you’re not going to enter the kingdom of heaven." As He began to illustrate that statement, He shows that the righteousness of the Scribes and the Pharisees was totally related to outward observances of the law, when inwardly they were violating the law.
