IF the Bible is our standard--which Bible? Is there a difference in the versions? Is it true that all the basic doctrines presented in each are the same? NO. It is provable. It all depends of which Greek and Hebrew Manuscripts that are used. The originals are gone. We only have copies, so which copies are we to use? Which line? KJ is from the "Majority Texts"--Textus Receptus. The question to be asked: Did God inspire the writing? Did He preserve it? There can be only one True Word of God. The point is that each person had to stay with God in the state, condition or position where he was when he was called. To you as well it is something you can ask yourself. A change is only allowed when you have been involved with an obscure job or with bad matters before your conversion. A clear example is when a harlot has been converted. It goes without saying that she cannot stay ‘with God’ by continuing to do this ‘job’. In general, it is God’s purpose, however, that a person doesn’t change from work or matters he used to do, but that he testifies in his old world of living that he has changed. If you read the whole section, you notice that he addresses both the unmarried man and the unmarried woman. His advice to the unmarried is to remain alone. He doesn’t just say so because it is that easy, free and without obligations. No, he does that from a certain point of view, namely keeping “the present distress” (1Co_7:26) in mind. How big that distress is, you can see in the world around you. Paul wanted us to have that in mind. It can touch you deeply when you imagine how many people around you are desperate and see no way out of their problems. Thoughts of committing suicide or attempts of committing suicide are no exception anymore. Statistics prove that with hard figures that one out of five young people have thought of committing suicide, this is really shocking. Considering the opportunity to be able to tell as many people as possible about the Lord Jesus, maybe especially to young people, Paul approaches the state of being unmarried from this point of view. But there is one more aspect that plays a role at your conversion: your social background. In the time Paul was living, slavery was a common thing. The way you felt in those days was dependent on the character of your master. But in general it was a very inferior position. You could’ve been treated any way they wanted to. You were not more than a piece of equipment. In some of the letters Paul wrote, he also addresses the slaves. At first sight they found themselves in anything but an enviable position. Therefore history mentions many slave revolts. The only alternative would be for the Christian to deny his or her faith to preserve the marriage, and that would be worse than dissolving the marriage. Pastor dissects this false prophet/teacher, a supposed evangelical who states the the Holy Bible is actually from the devil and is the Mark of the Beast. This man has the audacity to use Scripture to try and convince people to 'close the book'. He's had revelation from Christ himself that true Christians should have nothing to do with the Bible. Pastor shreds his arguments to pieces and somehow it's not surprising that this man has passed away, but others are keeping his website and YT account still going. People weak in the faith could fall prey to this teaching and Pastor Mike is providing the antidote for these blasphemous teachings. This false teacher joins the ranks of the many false teachers abounding today: Creflo Dollar, Kenneth Copeland, Joyce Meyer, Todd Bentley, Joyce Meyer and the list goes on. The Bible says we are to test the spirits and what we test them with is the written Word of God which is a rock of offense to those who are perishing. A chapter like this could be a great encouragement. To God your life has not missed His target, when a life partner does not appear in your life. Do not let emotions concerning the absence of a partner fill your life, but give all room to Him to fill your life. Every separation that comes earlier than death, is not permitted. In Malachi 2 it is written that God “hates divorce” (Mal_2:16). There is no reason to think why husband and wife would want to divorce each other. Oh yes, you may hear about untenable situations of continuous fights, yelling, drunkenness or extramarital relationship and adultery. And humanly speaking, it is understandable that the person that has to suffer all this, initiates divorce proceedings. Nevertheless, the Lord Jesus said – and Paul refers to that when he remarks “not I, but the Lord” –: “What therefore God has joined together, let no man separate” (Mat_19:6). This is a clear command: do not divorce! Personal Supplication Father, give unto all married Believers the grace and patience to manage their marital relationships so they will obey Your command on the marriage institution.
