The End of Our Story

Have you ever flipped to the last pages of a book or fast-forwarded a movie to learn the outcome because you couldn't handle the suspense? Did you realize that we can do the same with our life?

God tells us He will provide and He work all things out for our good. He promises we will be victorious. He will protect us and ensure that we will be blameless at the end as we read in I Thessalonians 5:23-24. And Apostle Paul reminds us here that "The one who calls you is faithful, and he will do it."

God has guaranteed our salvation. This is why we have no cause for worry in any situation. He has it handled. The end of our story is "guaranteed victory" in Christ, because we are already victorious in him. We read in I John 5:4 that, "everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith."

And we read Paul's powerful words in Romans 8:35-37

"Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? ...No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us."

With this knowledge, we don't have to take everything so seriously. Whatever it is, it's not the end of our story.

What is the end of our story? In the end, we are victorious. In the end, we are with God for all eternity. God's promises are eternal. This life, with all of its cares, is not eternal. It will end. Pain will end. Illness will end. Hardship will end. Finances will end. Evil will end. But, God, His word and His promises, along with Jesus Christ, the Holy Spirit, and Heaven are forever. The end of our story reads that we “live happily ever after”.
