Dozens of migrants rescued at sea, brought to Lampedusa

A ship belonging to the non-governmental organization ‘Sea-Watch’ has rescued 72 migrants from a boat in distress in international waters in the Maltese SAR (Search and rescue) zone.

Hundreds of migrants have arrived on the small Italian island of Lampedusa in the past few days, having been rescued by the Italian Coast Guard, non-profit rescue ships, and other privately owned boats.
