Have You Ever Seen A Dolphin Chase Its Dinner Through Bioluminescence?

This is exactly how dinoflagellates (the bioluminescent plankton) survives. The plankton are so tiny and at the bottom of the food chain that they’ve learned to give off light to hopefully draw attention to their predators. As that light drew attention to a small fish in this scenario, the dolphin was then able to be alerted to the fish and find its source of food. The tiny, minuscule plankton survives solely because the light alerted the dolphin that there was a fish close by. The dolphin is then happy and full. The circle of life (and evolution) is so crazy, especially at night, and even more so when bioluminescence is introduced. 🤯
