Why we DO NOT interact with dogs during socials
When you’re socializing your dog, DO NOT interact with them! The obvious 1st reason for that is that if your dog is focused on interacting with you, then they aren’t focused on socializing with other dogs, which negates the whole purpose. The other and arguably much more important reason is that you then make yourself a resource for the dogs to compete over. Resources like food, toys, and affection are the main reasons why fights tend to break out between dogs. We want to reduce the likelihood of that happening as much as we possibly can. So, we always recommend no interaction with dogs during socials.
