Environmental conservationists have welcomed president Yoweri Museveni’s decision to ban timber export which they say is a timely gesture.
Renown environmental activist who is also the executive director Bio Vision Africa Geoffrey Kamese now tasks authorities charged with the responsibility of implementing this directive to ensure its full enforcement.
This follows a directive issued by President Museveni dated 21st June 2023 instructing the prime minister to take action and reverse the petrifying rate of deforestation.
