Inside an Abandoned Doomsday Bunker | Cold War Tunnels | Gjirokaster | Albania Travel Vlog (Ep. 15)

In today's Albania travel vlog, I walk through and explore the cold war tunnels in Gjirokaster, Albania. The hallways stretch more than 1km! This secret communist underground bunker was built under the communist regime in the not too distant past. If nuclear war would have ever broken out, this underground bunker would have housed up to 200 top government officials at the time.

We toured the ventilation room, the power generating room, several offices, several storage rooms, sleeping quarters, and even the bathroom. There was another long and dark hallway that we were told not to enter. It appeared to go deeper under the castle, but I'm not sure as my sense of direction may have been a bit off.

This underground bunker was discovered in the late 90's and has only been open to the public since 2014!

If you are claustrophobic, I don't recommend that you enter this place. You may freak out. Also, stay close to the tour guide to hear everything. His voice echoes off the concrete walls and it's hard to understand everything.

This video was shot a little bit differently. The other tourists didn't want to be on camera...so I did the best that I could.
