Hundreds gathered by the Motoyasu River in Hiroshima to participate in a mesmerizing lantern ceremony to honor the victims of the 1945 atomic bombing. Both locals and visitors released the paper lanterns onto the river, bearing messages promoting world peace, such as 'Stand strong like bamboo,' 'Love,' and 'Peace for all the world.’
