Pistol Shrimp

Equipped with a specialized claw, the pistol shrimp is a master of underwater sonic warfare. When threatened or hunting for prey, it snaps its claw shut with astonishing speed, creating a cavitation bubble in the surrounding water. The bubble collapses rapidly, producing a shock wave and an incredibly loud noise.
