Heavy rains swamp streets of Bangladesh

Continuous rainfall for several hours has led to severe flooding in the streets of Dhaka, Bangladesh. Many roads were turned into rivers with cars slowly floating through the waters.

Dhaka’s infrastructural shortcomings, including the lack of an efficient drainage system and the occupation of canals, ponds, and reservoirs by various construction projects have left its residents struggling during the monsoon season.
