Arkansas State Trooper Morphis Chases Dodge Challenger Into Missisippi

On July 16, 2023, at approximately 6:22 PM, I Trooper Walker Morphis was patrolling on US Hwy 82 near the US Hwy 65 junction. While patrolling, I observed a dark blue Challenger with silver racing stripes operating at a speed of 75mph in a 45mph zone. I attempted to conduct a traffic stop for the observed violation. I activated my emergency lights to conduct the traffic stop, but the driver of the challenger accelerated to a high rate of speed. I advised Troop F Dispatch that I was in pursuit and attempted to catch up to the challenger. We continued eastbound towards Mississippi at speeds greater than 135mph. I continued to pursue the vehicle across the Mississippi River bridge, but terminated the pursuit once into Mississippi. Troop F Dispatch contacted Greenville Police Department but there were no updates given after the pursuit was terminated.
