Pokemon Trading Card Game GB Walkthrough Part 7: Unscientific Construction

While I get the idea of the Pokemon choices in Rick's deck for the theme of it (Like Mewtwo was created in a lab or instance), he didn't exactly have much of an overall strategy. I "guess" there's Muk to lock down opponent Pokemon powers since he doesn't have any other cards with Pokemon Powers, but beyond that it's a pretty scattered set of choices that often don't compliment each other. Even his draw power choices are questionable because he added in a bunch of cards to help him draw more and manipulate draws, but it's often at the expense of hand size such as Pokedex being a -1 to move cards around and Maintenance being a blind draw -2 due to the shuffle. Why not drop those 4 and have 2 more Bills and Professor Oaks instead? There doesn't seem to be a point to returning cards from his hand to the deck really and if he got Professor Oak instead of Pokedex he'd draw the 5 he moves around with Pokedex anyway + 2 more. I could go on and on, but you can see what I mean when you look through his deck.

Learn from his mistakes and have an overall deck strategy! Though for a Pokemon card scientist I'm surprised he didn't realize this. Maybe it's because those deck machines are down and he couldn't access his probability statistics? :P
