Inadequate worker protection is being attributed to the ineffectiveness of the occupational safety and health policy because it is not being implemented and laws like the employment ACT of 2006 not harmonized.
During the launch of a report on usefulness of the implementation of the convention 190 of the international labor conference into the occupational health and safety policy, an associate professor from Makerere University Consolata Kabonera said although this was ratified by Uganda there is need to put aside funds in the budget to facilitate labor supervisors do their work.
