Durs Egg of London made some of the world's finest firearms for gentlemen of means at the turn of the 18th century. With clientele such as Prince of Wales and examples currently housed in the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the quality and importance of the gunsmith's work speaks for itself.

Coming from the Greg Lampe Collection is this example of Durs Egg dueling pistols with a unique set of accoutrements. Each pistol comes slotted on the rear of its grip to accept the accompanying shoulder stock. Furthermore, the set is accompanied by a large smoothbore barrel that could be exchanged for either of the pistol-length barrels. It is an impressive feat of modularity for the time, and thankfully the set remains intact today and in fantastic condition.
