Adorable Dachshund Finds Unusual Playmate

These interspecies friendships is what we love most about our job here. Watching endless hours of videos with all sorts of different animals cuddling and playing in harmony warms our hearts and makes us wish we had such pets around. Seeing how even sworn natural enemies can learn to love and respect each other really makes you put a finger to your forehead and think some things through.

Now these two might not be sworn enemies per se, although the wiener type dog has always been bred for scenting, chasing, and flushing out badgers and other burrow-dwelling animals. But a Muscovy duck is not a burrowing animal. She is just a gorgeous flying bird that really, really wants to become friends with a brown dachshund!

We don’t what would have happened if this were any other dog. Feathers might have been flying around that pond and we probably wouldn’t have seen this clip to begin with. But the unusual friends don’t care that they are from different species. They have set their own differences aside and are now totally ready to go and take a dip in the water, or chase each other on the soft, green grass.

It seems that ducks get exceptionally well with dogs, because there are countless videos of duck becoming great friends with canines. Just check out how these two have reinvented the game of duck, duck, dog! You won't be able to resist the sheer level of cuteness of this video!
