Know When To "Cut" Your Story

If you're in the middle of a story with some people, and some new friends enter the group. Just continuing the story would be a disservice to the new people in the group, since they didn't hear the beginning of the story. To start the story over, would be a disservice to the people that already heard the beginning of the story. In this case, your best move is to "cut" your thread, and move on to another topic or story, keeping the conversation going forward that way.
