The Mallard is a fun wet fly that is a good one to tie if you want to work on your skills with Mallard flank, collaring hackles or just want a nice buggy looking fly to swing. It has a wool body but a yellow Antron yarn would also work well for the Mallard. I am certain it would be a good trout fly as well as a warmwater panfish fly. The Mallard is also in Ray Bergman's book - Trout (page 437, plate #5). -- Enjoy
