Lonely Days (Bee Gees, 1970). Live cover performance by Bill Sharkey, Home Studio, Hawaii Kai, HI. 2023-07-13. "Keeping the Oldies & Classics Alive"

"Lonely Days," written by Barry, Maurice and Robin Gibb, was the Bee Gees' 8th top 20 hit and their highest charting single to this point, rising to the no. 3 position on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in 1970 (Whitburn, 2013). The song was written at the same time as the Gibb brothers wrote their next single "How Can You Mend A Broken Heart," which turned out to be their first no. 1 it in the USA (songfacts, 2023; Whitburn, 2013)

Lyrics:

Good morning, mister sunshine
You brighten up my day
Come sit beside me
In your way
I see you every morning
Outside the restaurants
The music plays so nonchalant

Lonely days, lonely nights
Where would I be without my woman
Lonely days, lonely nights
Where would I be without my woman
Lonely days, lonely nights
Where would I be without my woman
Lonely days, lonely nights
Where would I be without my woman
Lonely days, lonely nights
Where would I be without my woman

Good morning, mister sunshine
You brighten up my day
Come sit beside me in your way

Lonely days, lonely nights
Where would I be without my woman
Lonely days, lonely nights
Where would I be without my woman
Lonely days, lonely nights
Where would I be without my woman
Lonely days, lonely nights
Here would I be without my woman
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah,
Lonely days, lonely nights
