The historic NATO Summit in Vilnius concluded on July 12, 2023, with significant strides made towards the future of the Alliance under the leadership of Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg. Major resolutions include the most detailed defense plans since the Cold War, a renewed commitment to defense investment, and strengthening global partnerships.

A new chapter in NATO-Ukraine relations was established, with an inaugural meeting of the NATO-Ukraine Council chaired by Mr. Stoltenberg, and attended by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. Agreements were reached to aid Ukraine's transition to NATO standards and equipment, and the path was cleared for Ukraine's future NATO membership.

Mr. Stoltenberg also stressed the importance of global coordination against challenges posed by Beijing and Moscow, and expressed gratitude to the hosts of the Summit. The next NATO Summit is scheduled for 2024 in Washington, D.C. #NATOSummit #NATO-Ukraine #GlobalPartnerships
