OVER 8000 PEOPLE FACE EVICTION

Over 8,000 people who had set up camp in the land adjacent to the office of the RDC (Resident District Commissioner) in Kikuube district are facing the threat of eviction by the owner of the property.
These individuals come from 1,889 households in 28 villages of Kasonga Parish, Kyangwali Sub County, in Kikuube district.
They were previously evicted by the office of the Prime Minister in 2013 on the grounds that they were illegally settling on the land designated for the Kyangwali Refugee settlement camp.
