The Course of History

My circuits get rattled every time I hear some narrator say, this event "changed the course of history." History goes backwards not forward. Maybe the event in question preserved the course of the future. Ever think of that?
Today is an extraordinary day and the casual observer may not be able to follow. I got a little confused myself, but it's not worth clearing up here.
I'm experimenting with funding. I wanted to do it with crypto but I was asked about a Venmo account.
