French President Macron urges parents to keep teens at home amid nationwide violent riots

French President Emmanuel Macron requested that parents “exercise their responsibility” and keep their teenagers at home in an effort to tame recent nationwide unrest. Violent protests have erupted across France since a teenager was shot and killed by a police officer during a traffic stop in a Paris suburb Tuesday. Macron said a third of the protestors detained Thursday night were “very young” during a government crisis cabinet meeting in Paris Friday; 875 protestors across France have been arrested since Tuesday.
