Ahoy, all you scalawags! Slack Tide Adventures is still in the North Georgia Mountains, and today, we're journeying up to the twin peaks of Bell Mountain, Georgia.

Bell Mountain has a controversial history. For many years, access to the peak was restricted to hikers willing to climb the 3,400 feet to it's top or to serious off-roaders who were willing to brave the brutal rutted dirt road to the top. In recent years, Towns County has paved the road and build a parking area and observation deck. These conveniences have increased the number of visitors to Bell Mountains peak, and with that increase in numbers, an increase in vandalism. Today, it's become a tradition for visitors to the peak to paint a message on a rock surface for posterity.

The graffiti has become a much contested point surrounding the mountain, and today, it's a part of the history of the mountain itself. Enjoy the video, and regardless of you feelings toward the vandalism, look to find some beauty in the photos that you'll see.
