What's up, Slack Tiders? On this episode, we're back on the water pursuing one of my favorite activities, hand lining Georgia blue crabs. It's August in Coastal Georgia, almost too hot to fish, but the hotter the water, the more active the blue crabs. I had about two hours to kill, so I grabbed $1.78 of chicken necks and headed up the Frederica River to let those bad boys soak. Crabbing is a great way to spend a few hours. It's inexpensive, and usually, will keep just about anyone entertained. I caught about 12-15 keepers in about an hour. Much like pythons and boa constrictors, iguanas are an invasive species and nuisance animal in this area of the world. On the excursion, we saw alligators, iguanas, Egyptian geese, burrowing owls and caught peacock bass. Eleuthera is just a 90 minute flight from the coast of Florida and has 150 beautiful, undeveloped beaches. It's an island with only 11,000 residents, so there's plenty of room to spread your wings and get away from everyone. I suggest you endeavor to see as many of those beaches as possible on your trip, do some fishing out of Spanish Wells, and sit in the pink sand on Harbour Island. Lighthouse point is at the very tip of the island and offers visitors some of the most remote and scenic beaches that can be found in today's modern world. Travelers willing to brave the precarious dirt and gravel road to the beach can wet their toes in Bothe the Atlantic Ocean and Caribbean Sea. There are ample vantage points for amazing photographs, and incredible snorkeling is just a short swim from the beach. Welcome all who long to put the work day behind them and feel the touch of a warm breeze blow across your cheek. On this episode of Slack Tide Adventures we're visiting the Expedition: Bigfoot! Sasquatch Museum in Blue Ridge, Georgia. If you've never visited the North Georgia Mountains, make sure to put it on your list of "to do's," and be sure to include the Sasquatch Museum on your itinerary when visiting the area. Located less than 90 minutes from Atlanta, Georgia, the museum is open daily from 10:00 am until 5:00 pm. Admission is only $8.00 for adults, $6.00 for children aged 5-12, and feee for active military and children under the age of five. The museum is a treasure trove of artifacts, eye witness accounts, and evidence about America's unknown primate. The tour includes interactive videos and recordings of actual Bigfoot vocalizations.
