The Bluegill Fly is a basic hopper/terrestrial type fly that was created by Roy Weeks of the Kentuckiana Fly Fishers ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OME5SFuElDE ). It is similar to the It's-A-Bug and the Kent's Stealth Bomber both of which are great panfish and bass flies. It is a simple pattern to tie and by varying the Marabou and the color of the foam body and legs you can quickly have a number of flies for many fishing situations. Productive sizes are four and six for bass and eight through twelve for panfish. Productive colors are Orange, Yellow, Chartreuse, Black, and Red. If you frequently fish warmwater species having a few Bluegill flies in your box can make for a great time on the water. - - Enjoy
