Over the past decade in Western society, human rights for historically underrepresented groups have made great progress. Countless laws and rulings have passed that ensure people can love whoever they want and be free from discrimination. However, when progress is reached there is always a thirst to go further. In this video, I highlight just how much 'progress' has been achieved recently in regards to sexuality and gender identity. From the New York City pride day to the state legislatures of California and Washington, progress is being made. And even from the classroom to nickelodeon you can see an impact. Representation of transgender people in particular is one topic that has gained a lot of popularity.
