Biden closes speech with confusing remarks in West Hartford

During his speech to gun safety advocates at the National Safer Communities Summit in West Hartford, US President Joe Biden concluded with an unexpected phrase that caused some puzzlement. In his closing remarks, he said ‘God save the Queen, man.’

‘God Save the Queen’ was the name of the British national anthem under Queen Elizabeth II, who passed away last September at the age of 96, and was succeeded by King Charles III. Following the death of the monarch, the anthem as well as the royalist motto reverted to ‘God Save the King’.
