FATAL ACCIDENT ON FM-62, CAMDEN TEXAS, JUNE 15, 2023...

Fatal Accident on FM-62, CAMDEN, June 15, 2023 - Shortly after 5 am on June 15, 2023, a silver 2013 Honda CRV was east-bound on FM-62 (about 4 miles off US-59). The driver was possibly distracted when her vehicle left the pavement to the right. She over corrected, crossed the pavement again to the left and began to roll. Evidence at the scene suggests that the vehicle rolled multiple times before coming to rest upright, in the grass, facing west. During the roll over, the driver, Savanah Ruth Konarik, 24, of Camden was ejected and landed in the grass. Sadly, Konarik was killed on impact. An Ambulance from Acute Medical Services was dispatched to the scene along with Deputies from the Polk County Sheriff's Office, including Corporal Adrian Ontiveros, Deputy Tobias Martinez, and Deputy Simon Prince. Trooper Sean Barnes was dispatched to investigate and was also assisted by Sergeant Sam Lattner with the Texas Highway Patrol. Traffic was not blocked during investigation and cleanup. A first-call car from Cochran Funeral Home transported Konarik from the scene. The vehicle was recovered by Clifton Chevrolet out of Corrigan. This accident remains under investigation by the Texas Highway Patrol.Show more
