Corruption At The SEC ~ Your WORLD WAR 3 round up

The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has been faced with allegations of corruption primarily due to its apparent inconsistencies and perceived overreach in its conduct towards organizations and individuals under its jurisdiction.

One such example can be found in the recent dispute with Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla. Despite Musk and Tesla paying $40 million in investor compensation in 2018 as part of a settlement, the SEC has been accused of overly monitoring Tesla and seemingly attempting to restrict Musk's freedom of speech.

The lack of transparency and possible retaliatory actions such as alleged leaks of investigation details further fuel suspicions of corruption within the SEC.

Moreover, the SEC has been criticized for its seeming failure to fulfill its obligations in a timely manner. A key point of contention is the delay in creating a plan to distribute the $40 million compensation among investors, a task that was supposed to be completed within 60 days of receiving the payment but remained undone even after more than three years.

Such laxity in carrying out its duties and responsibilities not only undermines the credibility of the SEC but also casts a shadow over its commitment to investor protection and market integrity, which are its primary mandates.

North Korean leader Kim Jong-un has expressed his intent to "hold hands" with Russian President Vladimir Putin, signaling a deepening of ties between the two nations. In a message to Putin on Russia’s national day, Kim expressed full support for Russia's invasion of Ukraine, according to the KCNA news agency.

North Korea has been accused of providing weapons to Russia while continuing to develop its own ballistic missiles and nuclear weapons, despite years of UN-imposed sanctions. Meanwhile, Russia has been reportedly seeking support from North Korea and other nations to evade sanctions and secure the weapons it needs for its conflict with Ukraine.

Kim and Putin first met in 2019, and since then Kim has called for "closer strategic cooperation" between Pyongyang and Moscow, with the goal of building a "powerful country." The US claimed in March that Russia was offering food to North Korea in exchange for weapons, a violation of security council sanctions.

In a recent tour of Iran's nuclear project, Iran’s supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, stated that the West cannot stop his country from obtaining nuclear weapons. He reiterated that although Iran does not want nuclear weapons based on its Islamic ideals, no one could prevent the country from developing them if circumstances changed.

He also suggested Iran could reach an agreement with the West if its nuclear infrastructure remains untouched. However, he urged Iranian officials not to comply with the International Atomic Energy Agency's (IAEA) "excessive and false demands" and respect a 2020 law that suspends IAEA inspections and increases uranium enrichment if sanctions are not lifted.

Meanwhile, the IAEA has only managed to reinstate a small amount of monitoring equipment after Iran withdrew from the 2015 nuclear deal and ordered its removal. This development elicited a warning from Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant that Israel might need to take its own actions to safeguard its security.

Finally, amidst these developments, a top Iranian general announced the country's intensifying efforts to export weapons, military equipment, and training to allies in the Middle East and beyond.
