Paint pour WET vs. DRY - Galaxy Pour gone wrong . . . or did it?

Why is this paint pour wet vs dry SOOOOO different? I'm trying a new pouring technique to try and create a galaxy pour.

An amazing galaxy paint pour was the first acrylic paint pour that captivated me years ago. That picture is the reason why I got into fluid pouring in the first place.

I have not been able to recreate anything even close to as beautiful as that pour. Unfortunately I don't remember who's pour that was. If I do find it I will be sure to link to it here.

Today we try a different way to do a galaxy pour. This was inspired by a few resin artist that use many thin layers of resin with different colors and patterns in each to create exquisite pieces of art.

While I didn't succeed in my quest for a truly epic galaxy pour, I did learn a few important lessons that I can use in my next attempt. I think I am on to something here.

Pouring Medium Recipe
---------------------
For Student or Soft Body Acrylics - 60% glue to 40% water.
For craft paint or fluid acrylics - 70% glue to 30% water.

Mix 2 parts pouring medium to 1 part paint for soft/medium body acrylics and 1 part paint 1 part pouring medium for craft paint.

In the dirty cup and the blown pour I used pouring medium with no color (this was the white paint). This dries clear and therefore allowed the black background to be visible kind of like a picture of a nebula looks.
