The Dutch Pour Conundrum: blow OVER before you blow OUT?

Traditionally with a Dutch pour in fluid acrylic pouring we are told to blow our flood paint over our colors before doing a blow out. Why do we do that? Is there a reason not to?

Ultimately blowing over the flood color is a way to infuse some of the base color in to the paint as it is being blown.

By not blowing over the flood color, you'll see thicker and more dense bands of color.

Both ways work great and can bring some interesting effect to your acrylic paint pour.
