Octopath Traveler 2 (PC) - Part 90: Side Story Cleanup #3

With all of the main stories and Crossed Paths completed, the final chapter is now open! But first, there are still many side stories to be completed beforehand. So let's conclude the cleanup! There is only one more side story to go after this, but it involves the hardest boss fight in the entire game and will require its own episode! Side stories completed in this episode:

0:00 - Descended From Royalty (Clockbank)
Solution: Talk to the drunk on the east side of Clockbank's industrial district to start the quest. This can be done one of two ways. One method involves Inquiring/Scrutinizing a historian in the Montwise library to learn about the Nyx Family History. The other method involves Stealing the Nyx Royal Family Tree from an old man in one of the houses in the Abandoned Village (where Castti's Chapter 3 was). Giving the quest giver the family tree will lead to a happy ending where he shows his doubters proof of his lineage, while reporting your findings of the family history will lead to a downer ending where he decides to step away from his bloodline. Both endings give the same rewards.

2:13 - My Beloved Catharine (Clockbank)
Solution: Talk to the guy west of the entrance to town to start the quest. Guide/Allure/Befriend/Hire him, then take him to the cat on the western end of the Industrial District next to the Thief's Guild. Yes, the cat is Catharine...

3:39 - Conclusion of "Descended From Royalty"

7:46 - For Whom The Clock Tower Tolls (Clockbank)
Solution: Find the Clock Tower Technician up the stairs to the right from the entrance to town and talk to him to start the quest. Guide/Allure/Befriend/Hire him and take the boat from the dock to the west over to the Clock Tower. This is a Level 44 dungeon with a boss fight at the end (which I already fought in Part 43 here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3Ar6edWABOs ), so make sure you're ready before you go in. After the boss fight, the technician will fix the damage that the Heavenwing caused and the quest will be complete.

12:40 - The Bourgeois Boy (New Delsta)
Solution: Inside the house next to the inn at New Delsta is a boy who wants a grape. Give him a Healing Grape and he will give you 5 leaves. Talk to him again and he'll want a plum. Giving him an Inspiriting Plum will reward you with 24 leaves, and the quest just endlessly repeats. The real solution is to Guide/Allure/Befriend/Hire the Wealthy Boy's Father at the church in Canalbrine and bring him to the boy.

14:24 - A Gambling Man (New Delsta)
Solution: This is a two-parter. The first step is to Challenge/Provoke the Gambling Husband to knock some sense into him. So ends the tale? Not quite. The next step is to Scrutinize one of the guys in the back of the Game Parlor to learn information about the Truth of the Game Parlor. Report this info to the quest giver and her husband to truly complete the quest.

16:47 - Utterly Exhausted (New Delsta)
Solution: A man on the north end of town feels like he's always being watched. He actually is, by a woman hiding behind the nearby bushes. Ambush/Soothe her to knock her out and complete the quest.

18:44 - The Baby's Coming (Cape Cold)
Solution - Guide/Allure/Hire/Befriend the Midwife at the inn in Flamechurch and bring her to the quest giver.

20:08 - A Present For My Son (Winterbloom)
Solution - Steal the Silver Quill from the Retired Scholar in Cape Cold and give it to the quest giver.

23:08 - Ruffians' Redoubt (Eastern Cape Cold Snows)
Solution - The Peddler at a crossroads will give you the quest. Go into the Ruffians' Hideout just to the southeast. Explore the mini-dungeon and kill the Ruffian Leader at the end, then report back to the Peddler to complete the quest.

30:21 - A Genius Inventor (Inventor's Guild just outside New Delsta)
Solution - This one is a 6-parter. The inventor needs you to collect items to help him finish his inventions which also unlock new skills.
