Here is a small video showing some behind the scenes stuff on the Gecko animation.

I also added a project on Behance that features better quality photos than the compressed video.

I hope it makes clear how simple and straight forward the process was. Mostly all done with 3ds Max 2016 built in tools almost out of the box. Until now the new 2016 release works as expected.
