Today we prune back the fig tree in the garden, since moving here the tree has not obviously been pruned for a very long time and needs a good cut back. As we prune I'll share some basic pruning tips that we can apply to various trees.
Figs are a delicious fleshly fruit found throughout the world. Native to the Mediterranean and Western Asia the Fig Tree is a hardy drought-tolerant tree that grows wild in dry and sunny locations. Fig trees prefer well-drained fertile soil but can grow in nutritionally poor soil also.
