Single Leg Takedown Variations. Push, Pull, Turn or Trip. Training with Cameron Quinn

The single leg is one of the most common takedowns used, or at least attempted. It's never simple because your opponent can move in any direction or use a number of counter options. But if you get a few keys right from the start, your success rate will go up rapidly.
1. Set the shot up well with a good snap down. Beginning with the legs mirrored is also important but you opponent may not let that happen so you have to be able to take the leg with legs reversed.
2. The head should be high on Uke's chest, eyes up.
3. Whether the leg is in front, between your legs, or behind dictates how you can continue to take your opponent to the mat, so drill all the possibilities.
In this video, we are looking at just some of the possibilities and high percentage ways to complete the shot. Always have a backup counter to your opponent's inevitable counter attempt.
