In yet another video, Aaron Hilliard, VP of the Kitsap Peninsula Mycological Society, takes us on a walk in the warmer days of spring to look at and identify a wide variety of beautiful and interesting mushrooms growing in the Pacific Northwest of the united states. Aaron has been interested and picking mushrooms his entire life and has had a deep interest in mycology for the past 10 years, studying identification, microscopy, and mushroom cultivation. He and his trusty dog Gunnar are going into the gorgeous coniferous forest of Washington state to discover what mushrooms are growing wild, and talk all about them.
Here is a list of species we are going to look at in this episode-
Amanita pantherinoides - "Western Panther Cap"
Pleurotus - Oyster Mushrooms
Candolleomyces candolleanus
Kuehneromyces lingnicloa
Galerina marginata
Picipes badius
Morchella tridentina,
Gyromitra esculenta
Fomitopsis mounceae
