Octopath Traveler 2 (PC) - Part 77: Steam Warfare (Partitio Chapter 4)

After securing the 80 billion leaves from Alrond after turning around his town's failing economy, Partitio gets word that Roque is to make an announcement regarding the steam engine on his own private island. So that's where he goes to exchange the funds and make the deal for the rights to the steam engine. However, he doesn't have a pass to get in to where Roque's announcement is to be made, but his new scrivener friend Ori points him toward a secret passage through Roque Company Headquarters.

After fighting through the two towers of the Roque Company, Partitio meets Roque onstage to sign the deal. However, Roque only accepts hard currency and not checks, which leads him to back out of the deal. Thankfully Alrond anticipated this and loaded up 80 billion in coins onto his ship so that Roque would no longer have a reason to back out of the deal. Now backed into a corner, Roque is forced to unveil a new piece of steam-powered warfare earlier than anticipated: the Steam Tank Obsidian, which serves as the final boss fight of Partitio's story!

The Steam Tank Obsidian has three additional parts to it which block off the main hull's weaknesses and add 10 shield points apiece to the main hull. The three parts can also be repaired if broken and resurrected if destroyed, which can make this fight a nuisance if you're not overleveled like I am. If you completed Osvald's story before this, The One True Magic really helps here, and if Partitio is equipped with the Arcanist class, he can use the Seal of Diffusion to allow the whole party to Sidestep most of the tank parts' attacks. Be sure to set up a big attack on Roque when the main hull's shields are broken. Armsmaster Throne with her latent power can use Armor Corrosive before attacking with Sixfold Strike, Partitio can follow up with Hired Help, Osvald can unleash the One True Magic, and Ochette can use a fully charged Latent Power attack to deal some massive damage before Roque's second phase.

Once the Steam Tank Obsidian is destroyed, so are Roque's hopes and dreams. Content to go down with his ship, Partitio doesn't accept that and instead hires Roque to his own business venture now that he has the rights to the steam engine. The new company of Partitio & Roque begin developing the Steam Locomotive for faster travel around the world, and the world itself is undergoing an industrial revolution.
