Adapted from the novel by Jules Verne. Two Union soldiers escape a Confederate prison via a hot air balloon, only to be marooned on an island where some force aids in their survival.

Created by Himan Brown, CBS Radio Mystery Theater aired from 1974 to 1982 with 1,399 original episodes and 2,969 shows including repeat broadcasts. Despite the show's title, the series included horror, science fiction, historical drama, westerns, and comedy in addition to mystery.
