No Man's Sky recent gameplay has given us a fairly good taste of combat, and the "on foot" style of combat seems pretty familiar to anyone whom has played a first person shooter. The character has a shield bar (if they have a shield kinetics unit installed) as well as five health boxes. They also have a few different attack options (should they install them) for their multi-tool. Various messages pop up on the screen as things happen in combat, such as when the shields go down or when a critical hit is taken.

In space, the player gets a slightly different heads up display. The most recent ship display we've seen shows the targeted enemy in the bottom right, along with their shield level and the general level of health of their ship, indicated by color, shifting from green (presumably full health) to red (low health) before being destroyed. There is also an overheat bar that seems to exist when firing at a constant rate, forcing the player to stop shooting at times to allow the bar to recover. Ship combat has a very similar shield and health box aspect, akin to the "on foot" combat.

In an article, we find that the ship combat seems fairly "space simulator" like, with controls to allow the ship to pitch, yaw, and roll. There also appears to be some level of assisted targeting as Sean Murray has talked about in the past, but we get to see it specifically at work in the combat gameplay.

That brings me to the question for this video, what type of combat do YOU enjoy the most? Are you someone who favors classic First Person Shooting running and gunning? Do you prefer interstellar dogfights? Are you a pacifist whom hates combat altogether? Feel free to leave your input in the comments section below and as always stay foxy, and much love!
