Sarge - If I cut the bottom of the bucket out, the worms will have access to the entire garden bed. I will still be able to put food in by removing the cover. The worms will get air from the top and can go deeper into the soil when it is winter time. Plus, I can steal worm compost and use it in other places that I need it.
