The town of Obrovac in Croatia was flooded after the level of river Zrmanja reached its historic maximum amid heavy rains. Emergency services have set up a barrier with 2,000 sandbags, in the hope it will protect the city from floodwaters.
According to the Civil Protection Administration, water levels in several of the country’s rivers are expected to rise further.
