2000 2001 2002 2003 2004 2005 2006 Nissan Sentra 1.8L

Replaced the fuel pump on a 2006 Nissan Sentra.
My neighbor, she is a nice old lady. Her daughter, Angie just gave birth to a beautiful baby girl. It was her car.
She was having problems with her car. Like long crank time when car sits for a couple hours, no power and rough idle.

So first things first I did was, check the air filter if it was clogged. It was not. Then I recommended to clean battery terminals and posts.
I replaced the positive terminal with a better, thicker terminal.
Then had the alternator tested with my VAT 45 multi-tester. Alternator was within specs, @ 86 amps. A new alternator would have read 90 amps.

I remembered to always check with a scan tool though there is no check engine light on in the dash. A pending code popped up, P0171 Lean Condition. So that gave me the direction to know what to do next.
I cleaned the MAF sensor at the air filter tubing with MAF cleaner. That didn't help so, it actually got worse. LOL

I left the car sitting for a couple hours and tried to start it. That is when I determined the fuel pump was bad because the car had a super long crank time. There was not enough fuel pressure from the pump.

And so that is how I ended replacing the fuel pump.
