Oak Hill Church of Christ preaching minister, Randy Sterling, delivers a message on the peace that can be found in knowing that God is on our side in times of trouble and strife.

Nobody likes bullies, especially when those bullies attack for things that we cannot change about ourselves. Like a bully, the great accuser, the liar and father of all lies, Satan, often appears to destroy the morale of the faithful. He gleefully presents humiliating failures and foibles in the lives of believers in order to dishearten them and shatter their faith. The schoolyard bully may say: "your mom and dad got a divorce because they can't stand to look at you." Satan says "God's not going to forgive you this time, He can't stand to look at you."

God's compassionate counsel as provided in the New Testament expresses God's desire to gladden the hearts of His children. God shares that He will be aware of their concerns and their fears, that His Spirit will indwell within His children and speak for them even when t hey do not know how to form the prayer for help into words. God reveals through Christ that His love for His children is everlasting and complete. His Word reveals that He will withhold nothing in order to reconcile the believer with Himself, even including, as Paul says, the chief of all sinners.

If you feel bullied by your struggles, turn to God's Word and the words of Christ, and discover that God is on your side.
